We did not but according to the company website they can be joined to make a play yard. They have great flexibility and the ‘hinge’ area can be tightened down to enable it to retain the shape you make. I actually plan on doing just that in the future.

Q:How can one replace the knob spring ? It requires quite a push down, & my wife says she doesn’t have the strength to push the button to open the gate

A:

unfortunately I don’t know the answer to this question. I too have found the push button on this gate to be difficult. I too noticed that you have to really position your finger just right to get it to release. We don’t keep the gate closed that often only when someone comes to the front door and I want to keep the dogs out of the way. We aren’t having to push the release button that often. Sorry I’m not any help but I agree its very difficult to open.

Q:How wide is it between each railing? We have 3 Toy poodles ranging from 6 lbs to 8 lbs. Can they get through the slats?

A:

Between regular rails it is about 2in space. It is closer to 2 1/2in on the two rails bordering door and the rails where you attach it to wall.

Q:Can you mount this gate a few inches off the ground so a cat can get under?

A:

I don’t think so. The middle gate has a frame on bottom so you would have to step over it

Q:how wide is gate openinig

A:

The opening is approximately 25.5″ wide. Also – as an FYI – there is a bar that runs along the bottom (part of the frame) that is there even when the gate is open. It’s about 1/2″ high…easy to step over, but you cannot roll anything through the gate without lifting it slightly over the bar (like a vacuum or something).

Q:Can I purchase more mounting brackets so I can put up the gate in multiple places in my house?

A:

Yes. There is a website on the paperwork and you can contact them through that website for extra mounting brackets.

Q:Can the top and bottom hinges be mounted at different widths because we have tall, thick baseboards in the area we would like to install it?

A:

It does not appear so. You would need to have something at the top at the same width as the baseboard.

Q:I have an opening of 69.75 inches, how would this gate fit it?

A:

It will work well, my measures about 58″, so it goes in a little, but looks fine. I have really enjoyed this for my dogs. It was not hard to install and I am a senior woman. Hope you enjoy your gate.

Q:I need it for my covered front porch which opens to 72″. Do I need to buy extra units for this gate or does this expand to 72″?

A:

It does not expand that I can tell. Sides fold in to make it curve in or out but the length opened straight is 70 inches. Have no idea if you can buy extra piece.

Q:Can this gate open more to one side, rather than in the middle? We have a double door, but just keep one side open to go through.

A:

No

Q:would this product work on an outdoor porch? is it weather resistant?

A:

This gate is metal with plastic on it too. I don’t know if it would hold up without rusting and warping in the direct elements, but if it were under cover it should. I have mine inside and had so many complements on it! It is a great gate!

Q:Can this be easily taken down and put back up?

A:

Yes, the mounting brakets have little posts that stick up and the gate sits down on these. The top of gate on both sides have release latches that allow the whole gate to be removed. Mounting Brackets do stay mounted to wall.
