It comes with attachments to attach to a wall on each side. If you don’t want to attach to the wall then it will not stand alone unless all ends are connected together. 
Q:can you put two of them together to make a bigger play area?
A:
Yes you can attach as many as you want. We also have used it in a long strip to block a banister along a stair way going down the hall so the baby can’t fall through the open areas. It is very versatile!
Q:If setting it up like the picture shown with the fire place, is there another way to mount it besides it being permanent?
A:
When you mount it, you attach it to the walls with screws so you can always take it down and reuse it. You can also take the gate down but leave the wall mount in the wall if you want to temporarily take the gate down but put it back up later (like if you want to light a fire etc). Just a side note: the screws they supply are useless so you’ll need to get longer ones if you are looking to use the wall mount.
Q:We are looking for something like this for a church nursery. If 2 were bought would there be enough room for about 10 children and toys?
A:
It probably depends on the numbers of toys. I suggest thinking of it in terms of your space. I did the math, if you made a square with it, you would have 7.7 ft sides and 58 square feet – pretty big – but probably not for 10 kids. That is like putting 10 kids in a dorm room. Still, put some tape on the floor in the shape you want to find out for yourself. Segments are roughly 23 long – you would have 16.

Q:Has anyone used this for a medium size dog?
A:
I’ve been using this for our Doberman puppy who is currently 5 months old, weighing 42 lbs. I’ve currently opened it up and used it to corner off part of my office with a whelping pad on the floor to protect the carpet. She can actually jump it, though if I keep the “no-no” bottle nearby, she tends to stay in her playpen better. I think even a small dog could eventually figure out how to jump it, though. Overall, I’m still very happy with this purchase. I just can’t use it to pen her up when I leave the room.

Q:Can the panels be separated and used independently from each other? We would like it to be ale to use as a both a play and gates for 6 doors
A:
It comes in sections that you have to put together. You would have to brace the section in the doorway somehow for it to stay.
Q:can you remove one panel to make it a little smaller
A:
You can remove as many as you want.

I would imagine you could sense all the “elbow” pieces work together. We used it as shown – hexagon shape and now we have it straight out as a room divider… If it can link together with 3, 4,5 or 6 sides … Yes to 7-12. You will probably have an extra rod and screw top left over.
Q:will it handle chilren shaking the fence
A:
My son jumps up and down trying to shake the fence when he has temper tantrums. It holds up just fine. That said, ours is cable-tied down to rubber mats (link below). I highly recommend this solution, as in addition to shaking, many kids try to move the walls of these things and can move the entire pen around the room. Q:How much space is in BETWEEN the rungs? Worried that my tiny dog might get her head stuck, so I need accurate measurements. Thank you in advance.

Most of the rungs are around 2 3/8 inches apart. The ones close to where it bends are around 2 inches.

Q:Does the metal heat up when in front of the fireplace/stove?
A:
I have it in front of a pellet stove that blows most of the air above the gate. The gate might get a bit warm, but you can touch it.
Q:Can you move the position of the door part to different panel?
A:
You can but it may require moving around other panels to make it work. One side of the panel has female parts and the other male, so you need to piece it together to make it work.
Q:Would I be able to install this on a wall with a thick baseboard?
A:
Yes, you could because the brackets can be set above the baseboard, which would still leave the unit on the floor. That is how we have ours.
Q:How tall is it?
A:
28″ I’m 5’4″ and it comes to my upper thigh. We use it to keep a chihuahua off the carpet. Metal and easy to set up.
Q:I want to use this as a room divider, wall to wall is 124″. if I use 5 panels ill be 4 inches short and wont be able to fasten to the walls. right?
A:
Mine is angled so I can’t tell you how many inches it is for a straight 4-panel fence. If 4 panels is too short for you, then the only way to make it work is to use one more panel and bend a little bit. The connection between each panel can be secured. And the connection to the wall can be angled. Instead of a straight fence from wall to wall, you’ll have to give it some curve.

It has panels of 2 ft wide. So the closest you could get would be six by six by 4. or put it in angles as shown. It has 8 panels. You may be able to get extra panels. We have ours 4 x 8 x 4 against a wall, which is the 4th side. The ends do not have to connect. It is really amazing all the shapes you can put it in. We love it.
Q:we have a rambunctious boston terrier – will this gate hold when he pushes on it?
A:
It will move but I doubt he will knock it over.
Q:What is the diameter of this play yard?
A:
The maximum diameter is 5ft. Each panel is 2ft long and they can be removed to reduce the size or you can purchase a second playpen and use the additional panels to increase the size. It is very easy to remove or add panels.
Q:Is the gate affective with a 18 month toddler if it is free standing?
A:
We have a 20 month old who is probably about 33 inches tall. We have it blocking our wood burning stove. It is against the wall but not attached. He does pull on it, but for the most part just leaves it alone. I would say it works pretty well.
Q:Where can I get extension panels to make this bigger?
A:
I would email the manufacturer. We able to get parts that were not in any catalog.

I honestly don’t think you can. I tried to look everywhere for one as well. I even went to the manufacturer’s website. This gate is 28″ tall and every other gate they make is 30″-32″ I believe. It sucks. You could buy two playyards if you are desperate.

oo, probably not? Bunnies are pretty good at squeezing through things, right? And 5 lbs doesn’t sound that big. I’d measure the space for you, but I’m not at home. I can easily fit my hand and most of my arm through.
Q:can 2 additional panels be added to create a rectangular enclosure 4′X6′ for our cat?

Sure but how big is your cat. It might be able to slide through the bars.

The height is about 47″ and the length is 192″ straight I think. All depends what shape you wanted to be. I use mine as fence to keep our puppy from cross oven until she is fully trained.
Q:Is it possible to set up mounting hardware in two parts of one’s home and move the panels from one location to the next?
A:
comes with two sets of mounting hardware, so that would be for one location. since sections separate, could probably buy extra set and move to different location.
Q:If I hard mounted this,but wanted to remove temporarily- how long would it take to get it out of the way (without removing the mounting hardware)

About five minutes.

Yes, you can add (or remove) panels fairly easily. Not sure where to purchase them though.
Q:I don’t know if my latch is broken. But does this require both hands to open the gate? Because It doesn’t open with one hand.
A:
I can open my gate with one hand, although it takes a bit of dexterity and most of the time I use both hands. In general, I pull back on the red latch with one hand and lift up the white lever with the other hand. However, I can sort of flip the white lever up with a finger while pinching back the red slide latch. It definetly takes a bit of ‘oomph’ to slide back the red latch. But this keeps crafty two year olds from being able to open the gate.
Q:how do you make it go in the circle like the first picture? mine doesnt have anything to connect it or so it seems
A:
I believe my husband just twisted the little knobs on top of the gate sections. Then made the shape we wanted then tightened them.
Q:Hi, if you set it up as a circle, square or rectangle, can you also have door open to the inside (rather than outside as pictures show) as well?

Q:For the panels you are not using can you use them in another entry wat?
A:
My neighbor is using them to form a U across the front and around the sides of a half wall and banister to a staircase to protect their toddler granddaughter from falling down the stairs.
As I used both sets of what is used to attach them to the walls, they have innovated their own way for temporary attachment when granddaughter is visiting.
Q:Is the pen white or beige
A:
It is a glossy white finish. It looks as though it has several layers and is very well finished.
Q:I have a 15 foot garage door opening that I would like to put this on and would like to know if this is going to fit being the box says 138″ length?
A:
I am pretty sure it would fit. The total length of all 8 panels is 192 ft. I have 4 panels spread out and curved to go across a 6 ft opening and I love it. You would probably have to curve it or have some of it zigzagged to fit, but it should work.

At first, I thought I was being asked if you sold extra oanels and I replied that I didn’t know. Then I saw the, “can you help this customer”. I have already given my unused length to a next door neighbor, so have none left. Sorry. Joan

Q:Is there a space between the sections? I see it is 24″ wide, but is there a gap between the two panels that make it measure more than 24″?
A:
Each panel measures 24″ from the center of one joint to the center of the next. Actually, using my tape measure, it looks like it’s just a hair over exactly 24″ (maybe 1/8″ over). However, if you’re wanting to stretch a few panels across an open space in the house, you’ll also have to account for the rest of the width of each end joint, plus the wall mounts…You’re almost certain to have to slightly curve or zig-zag the panel lineup a little even if the space you want to cross is an exact multiple of 24″.
Q:Not speak English well. Two sets can be connected to one I bought a total of 16?
A:
Yes. I believe that you can connect multiple sets.
Q:Is it free standing?
A:
very free standing, either in an octagon or square formation. We use only 6 panels for our 5 month old swiss shepherd mix puppy. It can also be attached to wall with included hardware, and is easy to move. we just went on a road trip and put this in the back of our van for our puppy. I wish I had one of these when my kids were babies.
Q:Can anyone tell me how wide this is completely stretched out with all pieces? I want to stretch it over a wide 178 inch opening in my living room.

Each piece is about 24 inches and there are 8 pieces, so you should have enough coverage.

Q:We’d like to put it together in the morning and put it away at night, how easy, flexible and easy would it be to do this everyday?

It’s not that big of a deal cuz I sometimes do that but not often. It’s pretty heavy. I have it hooked to the wall as a divider from my living room and kitchen. It’s actually my dog divider now because my 2 1/2 year old figured out how to unlock it.
Q:Lots of reviewers have commented that this item is easily broken. Has the company addressed this issue at all? This seems like a safety concern.
A:
Don’t know. Mine hasn’t broken.

You can use as many as you want

A:
It’s flexible enough to be a square, triangle, rectangle, whatever. Sections are removable. We used it as a U-shape anchored to a wall around our pellet stove.

There are 2 places on each end that can screw into the wall. I don’t do that I just have something propped against each end to hold in place. I use mine to block dogs from a certain area of the garage.

Yes, but there is nothing to “attach” it to the ground, stakes or such. It is metal, so I would not recommend leaving it in the elements. I also wonder if it would get hot in the sun. WE only use ours indoors.

It’s just under 2 1/2 inches between bars.
Q:How easily does it break?
A:
It’s actually very durable and all depends on how tight you make each joint. Mine has taken a pretty good beating so far and is still in great shape.

I don’t know if you can purchase just the gate, but if so you would need to add the gate panel and a plain panel. The connectors are male and female and so the panels must be in even numbers to connect properly.
Q:Can this be connected to the wall from the end, not only the side? I want to put it around a corner entertainment center and need connect ends to wall

The connects only on ends of the gate so it will work
Q:Is there rubber or anything on the bottom of the panels to prevent it from slipping on a hard floor?
A:
the answer to your question is no. material that is in contact with floor: metal fence and gate sections and plastic caps on top and bottom of posts. at 31 pounds though, especially on a rug, might be hard to move for a small toddler or pet.
Q:Is the width of panel adjustable? I have gap of 9.5 ft between walls, can i adjust width of panels to get 9.5ft total length?

You cant adjust each panel, but you can angle them in order to fit your space.
Q:How does this playyard compare to the northeast metal 3 in one? I know this one is bigger and less expensive; however is the Northeast one better?
A:
Its a good playyard.Its a white heavy metal flexible.you can separated the parts,make just a door or a separation for a fire place for example.good for inside and outdoor.its has enough space inside for all toys and small chair for your child.good safety door also.I recommended it.
Q:What is the width of each panel? Or the circumference of the enclosed space? Or if used between walls, the maximum length?

Each panel is 24 in and there are eight panels. You can shorten it if your opening is not that large but you have to rearrange the end caps to get it to attach to the wall brackets. I used four of the panels for my opening. To use it as a playard, it’s 19 sq feet.
Q:Product description says 28 inches tall, but the photo of the box up there can be seen with “30 inches tall” written on it. Which is it?
A:
It is def. 28″ tall. Only the connecting knobs stick up an extra 1/2 inch, so really can’t be counted towards the overall height.
Q:How wide is the door opening? I am plus size and read some poor reviews about their extra tall gates with doors being too small to walk without turning sideways.
A:
The opening is 16″ which will require you to turn sideways.
Q:Can you buy more panels to make a bigger gated play area? bigger than the 19 square feet?
A:
I’m not sure if Regalo sell’s individual panels. I had a similar play yard from a different manufacturer and each panel was $40.00 so I took it back to petsmart. If I were you, I would buy another Regalo play yard because I think you can link them together.

In theory, I believe it can be used to go across a “wide area” like a fence, but you will have issues if you expand too far without some sort of turn-back to create stability. I think one of the weak points is the connection at each end of the gate sections – my 3 year old is able to pivot them by pushing and pulling on them.
Q:Can a cat jump over it?
A:
My cat cannot jump over it – but she is also lazy. She is of normal weight, but big as far as cats are concerned, and 10 years old.
