The opening measures exactly 22 inches. I own 3 different gates very close in price. This gate is by far second to none. Strong, tough and extremely attractive. It has my highest rating. Munchkin Woood and steel gate. It also looks much more expensive than any of the other gates. If I had to rate it, it would be AAA+++ all the way

Q:Does this come with the extensions?

I ordered from this listing last week and it came with ONE extension, not 3 as shown in the photo.

Q:The munckin website says it can extend to 40.5″ wide, but this listing only says 35″. Can someone please confirm?

my opening is 38 inches and i think i had one more extension that i did not use.

Q:would it work at the top of a staircase?

A:

I placed mine at the middle of my staircase where I have a landing. You had to be careful installing it as my staircase banister did not have a flat surface but once tightened down I have had zero issues. I absolutely love this product.

Q:Can this gate be used at the top of the stairs?

Q:Does this baby gate auto close/lock behind you? I have two older kids and a baby.
