“This wooden, child-resistant gate has kept two energetic, curious children from going near our wood heat stove and kerosene heater for three years. They hate the gate and make a point of trying to pull the gate down at least weekly. Under normal supervision, this gate will keep your kids safe.
Although it is initially a bit of a pain to open and close the gate every time to add wood to the fire, you do get used to it. The door still works after 3 years and our almost 4-year-old still does not seem to have figured out how to open it quite yet, even though it is one of the least finicky child proof doors I have encountered as an adult. The wooden fence is much more attractive than the plastic gates that many other people have, and does not cost much more. This is one of the few child products that I can recommend without a doubt.”

“When put into enclosed form, the area it encloses is too small for our toddler. We do find it useful, however, to partition off part of the room when we have a fire in the fireplace. By not being latch together, it is moveable by our (now one-year-old) child, but works well as long as someone is in the room with him at all times. It keeps him far enough away from the fire and slows him down so that one of us can scoop him up if he is trying to move it. The wooden bars look decent (better than plastic).
My recommendation is that if you want to use it to encircle a space, buy two of them to attach together. Even the additional two panel sections that you can buy separately do not make it big enough for a busy toddler.”

This play yard is the perfect solution it is great! I ordered the playpen plus three extension kits and now he has tons of room to crawl around. So far, he has not complained about being in there, unlike his pack and play. Those things are just too small to use for an active baby.
If you buy, I would recommend at least two extension kits. The play wall is fine, but could be improved. My son loves the spinning things above the keyboard, but when he plays with them, he is always inadvertently hitting the keyboard below. Trust me, this can be annoying as the keyboard is a little on the loud side.”

It is an awful design and I am not sure what the manufacturers were thinking when they made this one. I could not recommend this for a child that is walking and I would reconsider it before I would buy it for a younger child because they may figure out the built in ladder and get hurt when you finally trust it to keep your child safe. I will not even resell this one online because I would not want someone else’s child to get extremely hurt with it… In my opinion, it deserves two thumbs down.”
