However, it’s kept her from climbing the stairs at the bottom, which it where we place our current one every evening when we’re downstairs. Again though, she’s small, almost 1 years old, and we keep it as tight was we can make it. Consider how much pressure your little one would put on it before you use it at the top, but not a good idea unless you’re there with them. One thing to consider, I’ve tripped over it, and so has my husband, when not paying attention, and it didn’t fall down, we did so for all the other areas, it’s a pretty good bet.

Any cat can jump over this gate. It’s about 2 1/2 ft tall

It says 25.5″in the description, I just measured it and it’s 23″ tall so that means the 25.5″ they mention in the description has to be the width.

openings are 1.5 inches wide by 2 inches tall diamond shaped. I don’t think a full sized ferret could fit through them

I believe it was 30″, however it broke after a week. The wood was weak. My daughter has had one for six months and hers is fine.

A:
Yes! It is narrow enough including the bumpers, the only problem is it won’t lock into place so you’d want to consider putting the gate inside the closet or putting something in front of the gate to hold it up. Our gate measures exactly 24 inches and the door way I just put it in is the same. Feel free to ask me more questions or ideas and I’ll test them out 
Q:Would a toddler be able to knock the gate down if he leans hard against it? We’d use it as a room separator, not for the stairs…
A:
It should do just fine but that really all depends on your toddler and how clever he or she is. We use ours to seperate our kitchen from our living room and it keeps our 2 year old daughter out well enough. She did discover that if we don’t put the gate in tightly enough, that she can run at it and knock it down if she hits it hard enough, but she usually doesn’t since she.ends up falling too haha. So as long as you secure it tightly and keep an eye on your child, it should do just fine. Sorry it’s so long and convoluted (sp?) but i hope that helps.

Not at all. Easy to install and take down.

Probably will not fit. Compressed it is about 23 1/2″ wide. But my gate has only 2 sliding panels and does not look like the picture here with 3 panels. There may be different size gates with narrower panels.

Not wire mesh, more like plastic. Very effective gate when used properly for little ones. Older kids and animals can climb/leap over it.
Q:has anyone tried stacking 2 or 3 of these, one on top of the other, to block cats that can jump high?

I am going to try 2 of the tall ones they make that are 32 inches high and see if it works !

No that won’t work. Plus the cats can jump over it fairly easily. Oh and I’m sure they could break it as well.
Q:Can you open the gate for an adult to walk through without having to take the whole thing down? Not clear in the description.
A:
No you cannot. You have to move the gate or step over it. I am 5 foot 3 inches and have no problem stepping over the gate. i will say this is the best price for a gate in general.
Q:What size are the grid holes?
A:
They are very small. I bought this for my puppy and she can only get her finger nails through it. I would say they maybe the size of a silver dollar?
Q:Will this gate fit in a doorway that is 24 inches wide?
A:
Not really. Each panel is bigger then 24. (approx 24 5/8) but the top and bottom Rail are 1/2 longer and can be trimmed off so if you’re handy and can cut this to adjust to 24. If you do a close up of the pic on Amazon you’ll see what I mean at the corners of the gate where it overhangs. Not everyone has a handyman around that can saw off the edge so short answer to your question is probably “no”.

I’m not sure my dear. It can go pretty big’ they sell the same ones at Walmart. I woundnt recommend this one I’ve gone threw three of them. They break real easy. I know some aren’t cheap but some times the cheap one r the worst. I’m sorry I didn’t know the length but it a stander size maybe u can Google it
