Q:Is it possible to remove and assemble this gate on a regular basis? We want to use it to block the kitchen.
A:
It only takes 5 seconds to remove the gate and 5 seconds to install it again. I remove and install it frequently.
Q:Does it open on the side or you have to go over it?
A:
You have to go over it.
Q:Does anyone know how to remove the fabric on this gate? My cat peed all over it and it reaks of pee, I can’t figure out how to get it off to wash.
A:
I’ve had to do this a couple of time since I bought it to keep my puppy confined while I’m gone. Just remove the legs the same way you put them on and slide the fabric off. There are “clips” on the side of the tension bars that need quite a bit of pressure at first to get them to release. After a couple of times doing this, they loosen and it’s much easier to get them off. Hope this helps!
Q:When you fold this gate down to the smallest size, will it fit in the average sized suitcase for travel?
A:
it comes completely apart and is very compact. It comes with its own storage bag
Q:how high (tall) is the gate
A:
26.5 inches high… but i have lifted mine a couple of inches off the floor for extra height.
Q:Springs

You turn the top and bottom rods to make the gate wider or smaller…I really like this gate, however, if you will be switching the size a lot it may be annoying to turn it to get it to the correct size.
Q:Wanting this to keep our infant from getting to our audio/video equipment. Anyone know if the screen will allow remote signals to pass through it?
A:
Although I think the netting would be just fine, I am sure the structure tubing would not. I wouldn’t go to the expense of this item for your purpose.
Q:can it fit a 32′ door
A:
I think the smallest it gets is 38 inches. Its like a shower curtain rod and can be twisted as short as 38 inches and extended out to 62 inch door ways which is what I use mine on. Its sturdy, safe and can be stepped over quite easily. Its super easy to puttogether, I am 5 2′ and 110 lbs and did it myself in 10min.
Q:i’m assuming if the doorway is 34 inches wide, this gate will not work as it will not snuggly fit. Only expands larger, not smaller….correct?

Hi there, ive tried extending mine to its fullest but i think you will be 1″ too short. Unless you can find something like a thick rubber mat (not ideal but a work around) to bridge the gap i wouldnt like to recommend going above the 60″

Q:How to disassemble the tension rods? Do they come apart for storing?
A:
The product assembles/disassembles quite easily and would require minimal storage space. You simply slip the rods out of the sleeve and fold the sleeve. The tension rods are probably about 38″ completely collapsed but expand to the doorway width you want by turning them. I thought it did the job well for a reasonable amount of $.
Q:Are the top and bottom able to be adjusted separately? I need the top bar slightly longer than the bottom bar.
A:
Yes, the top and bottom must be adjusted separately.
Q:Would this be a good gate for the top of the stairs to stop baby going down?
A:
I would not use a pressure mounted gate for the top of the stairs
Q:I see the mfgr says 60in max, but would this gate actually still work on a 63 inch wide openning? Thanks.

No.
Q:Can you use this gate to block an opening that is shorter than the gate? ie – the bottom rod would be fixed to the “walls” but the top rod would not. Thank you.
A:
The top and bottom rods are adjustable metal so it will only fit within an opening at least as wide as the minimum size noted in the item description.
Q:Has anyone tried putting it at the top of the stairs? I’m worried about it coming loose. It would be between 2 sturdy walls.
A:
Nate, the gate allows widening of the poles (turning one way for in, the other for out. So in my opinion it would be safe if the walls will support a good bit of force. Using a piece of metal or wood between the pole and the wall would probably keep the pole from penetrating the wall.
Q:How does the fabric adjust with the poles? In the photo, it seems like the fabric is one size.
A:
The fabric stretches a bit but not much. You have to match doorway width with the width of the gate. I would say within a half inch or so.
Q:Can this be mounted to a wall on one side and to a wraught iron banister about 1″ wide on the other?
A:
No. The 1″ wrought iron post is not wide enough. Remember this is a tension rod, so if the child should fall against it, it may slip.
Q:Would it be good to prevent a child from going down deck or patio stairs?
A:
That would really depend on what you have tension against. This gate is pretty wide and when tension is set, my 2 year old who is big can’t move it at all but since I can’t see what the base would be against, don’t feel safe answering yes.
A:
The bars are adjustable but the fabric is not. The frame could fit properly but there would be slack in the fabric.
Q:Will this work for stairs? Could you attach one side to the banister?
A:
The rods for this gate are actually identical to a standard 60 inch shower rod. If that can work on the banister, then this gate will work. It is a hardy gate that works well.
Q:I’m assuming you just have to step over it when you walk back and forth? I’m using it for my dog in my office so I’ll be going in and out a lot
A:
Yes you do have to step over it.
Q:Would this brace well against a banister (straight out, not perpendicular to the banister)?
A:
We have it spanning about a 5 and half foot opening–my twin boys lay against, stand on bottom bar, and throw stuff at it—so far it has not fallen over unless I lean/fall too hard on it. I think if you put it against a banister–the banister needs to be well anchored or it will loosen over time—we have this issue with a pressure gate we use at the bottom of our stairs—overall it was a good purchase and it works for what we needed.
Q:Could a dog escape thru the side? Or push it over? He’s small, 20lbs., but determined.
A:
I wouldn’t recommend it. My dogs were big, 70lbs or so, but they would barely touch it repeatedly, in about 15 minutes it would fall down. It doesn’t handle vibrations well.

I’m not sure what your question is but we really thought this wide doorway was a good deterrent for our 3 pups. You need to make sure the tension on the gate is strong so they can’t push it down. We placed it between our living room and dining room so we could keep the dogs in the same room as us. Hope this helps!
Q:I want to attach it one side to something that’s 25.5 inches high. Will that work?
A:
That probably depends on what you’re attaching it to, but I believe it’s about 27 inches tall once installed, so it will probably be too tall.
